I’m hoping for a three-peat in July. For the first time ever I finished my entire TBR list two months in a row (May & June). This month looks rather modest so it should be achievable.

Heir of Novron by Michael J. Sullivan:  I started this series in May and it’s become one of my favorite series already. I don’t find myself continue series month after month too often. I typically need a break so I don’t get burned out but this one has lined up nicely and be enjoyable so far. I had heard about this author and series last year and came across the series at a book store while on vacation. I thought this year was no better a time to dig into them and I’ve not been disappointed so far!

Priest of Bones by Peter McLean:  I picked this one up last year from a sale online and have been wanting to get to it as I’ve heard good things about it. Seeing someone mention reading it recently in one of the Discord servers I frequent got this into the mix for the month.

.

The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson:  Ironically I also picked up the first three books in this series on the same vacation previously mentioned above. These were from a used bookstore which was really cool to browse around. I’ve seen the movie for the first book years ago. I also read the first book last month and really enjoyed it so figured once again I’d follow up this month with book two.

The Children of Gods and Fighting Men by Shauna Lawless:  This one got on my radar as the author is fairly active in the online community (Discords & Twitter). Last month I heard mention that this book was selected as one of NetGalley’s highlighted books. I hopped into my NetGalley and requested an eARC and just a couple of days later I was approved. I’m excited to give this one a go!

Army of the Cursed by Karim Soliman:  I’ve seen this one mentioned around the Discord community for awhile now and also see the author active in said community as well. This is becoming a theme for me this year with trying new self-pub/indie authors.

.

Sharp Ends by Joe Abercrombie:  This one will wrap up my original First Law journey that began in 2021. I enjoyed the original trilogy but have enjoyed the standalones even more so far. From what I’ve seen this one is more a collection of short stories so I’m not sure how well I’ll click with them but we shall see!

.

Gathering the Fallen by J.R. Konkol This was another eARC from another service. I didn’t realize it was the second book in the series when I first signed up for it. Last month I read book one to have a better understanding coming into this one. This one is long over due.
